JUSTICE FOR SALOME: Ukomu Igala not impressed with Governor Ododo’s undue silence
Ukomu Igala Organization (UIO) has Expressed dissatisfaction with the lack of interest by Kogi State governor, His Excellency Usman Ododo over the gruesome murder of Salome El’ojo Adaidu.
The record-breaking murder has been trending in mainstream and social media worldwide since January 12, 2025, when the crime took place, even as the state government cannot claim ignorance of it.
What makes it concerning is the fact that the victim, National Youths Service Corps (NYSC) member, Miss Salome was an indigene of Kogi State, the same for his mindless assailant/killer, Timilehin Ajayi.
Nasarawa State governor, His Excellency Sule Abdullahi, in whose state the criminal act took place has come out forcefully to pledge that justice would be done on the matter.
Amnesty International has also called on the security agencies in charge of the investigation into the act to ensure that no stone should be left unturned, in fishing out the syndicate behind the crime, if any.
The undue silence of Kogi State government, which has failed to lent its voice to the ongoing cry for justice is what has drawn the attention of Ukomu Igala Organization.
In a release made available to MEDIA AGENDA, signed by the National Leader of the Organisation, Elder David Abutu, the body commended the Nasarawa State governor for his compassion and commitment to ensuring that justice is served, appropriately.
UIO also thanked the Honourable Minister of Women Affairs and Secretary General, Amnesty International for their continued push for thorough investigation and justice.
The statement also urged the state government to show interest, especially as the victim and the killer are from the state.
Late Miss Salome El’ojo Adaidu was murdered by the suspect, Timilehin Ajayi on 12 January 2025 in Angwa Sarki, Orozo, a suburb in Nasarawa State.
