ADC ZONAL CHAIRMAN WARNS AGAINST THOSE PARADING AS PARTY LEADERS
Zonal chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) of Kogi Central, Hon Huisein Shahaab has appealed to the people of the state to ignore some big names in the political space pretending to be members of the party.
He made the appealed on Tuesday during a sensitization visit by the state chairman and the secretary Hon Sunday Maiyaki and Mamman Akpena in Okene.
According to the zonal chairman, those who are currently parading themselves as leaders of the party in state are deceitful, since they didn’t join the party to grow it, but merely wanted to use the current structure to forcefully acquired political power through the backdoor.
Hon Hussain enjoined the members of the “authentic” ADC team to be vigilant, as the new entrants into the party do not mean well for the party.
“This party was natured by our national leader, Elder Leke Abejide, since 2017 single handedly. Whatever made our party attractive to the coalition team was because it has national and state outreach, because of the commitment of the national leadership,” he said.
‘He further stressed, “Here was a man who has used the party to win elections back to back in his federal constituency and through his influence, added another feather to the party by winning another federal constituency into the bag of the party in the 2023 general elections.”
He urged the National leader of the party to extend his dividend of democracy to the party faithful in kogi Central as they have always supported his political aspirations, despite the fact that he contested against their son in the 2023 governorship election in the state.
Speaking on the occasion, the state chairman of the party Hon Sunday Maiyaki encouraged members of the party to unite and work towards growing the party at the grassroots levels for immediate and future elections.
Highlight of the programme were handover of the party’s forms to all the candidates in both chairmanship and councillorship elections in the zone.
