Tetes eulogizes resilience, courage of Nigerians in New Year message (TEXT)
“As we step into the year 2026, we pause to reflect on how far we have come as a people and as a nation.
The journey has not been easy. We have faced economic pressures, security concerns, and moments that tested our collective resolve.
Yet, time and again, Nigerians have shown remarkable resilience, courage, and an unbreakable spirit.
That resilience remains the true heartbeat of our nation.
This new year presents us with a renewed opportunity—an opportunity to learn from the past, to correct our course where necessary, and to boldly shape a future worthy of our great potential.
With fresh hope and shared determination, we must harness our collective strength to build a Nigeria where prosperity is not reserved for a few, but shared by all; where governance is transparent, accountable, and anchored on service; and where opportunities abound for our youth, our women, and generations yet unborn.
To those entrusted with leadership, we call for sustained and meaningful reforms that place people at the center of policy and decision-making.
Governance must continue to reflect empathy, competence, and an unwavering commitment to the public good.
Trust is built when leaders listen, act decisively, and put national interest above personal or political gain.
To citizens across every state and community, your voice, participation, and unity remain vital.
Nation-building is a shared responsibility.
Let us continue to engage constructively, hold institutions accountable, and contribute positively—through our work, our conduct, and our commitment to peace and unity.
As we move forward, we hope that 2026 will usher in tangible breakthroughs in security, renewed economic stability, job creation, and a strengthened sense of national pride.
May it be a year where hope translates into action and promises into progress.
Let us keep believing in Nigeria’s promise.
More importantly, let us work—together, with purpose and unity—to make that promise a living reality.
God bless you all, and God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”
