OTEDOLA ECHOES DANGOTE’S CALL FOR PROBE OF NMDPRA BOSS FOR ALLEGED FINANCIAL RECKLESSNESS
In a message posted by billionaire entrepreneur Femi Otedola on his X (previously Twitter) profile, he addressed statements attributed to Aliko Dangote regarding the schooling decisions of his children and accusations against Farouk Ahmed, the Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA). Otedola’s message emphasized Dangote’s claim that while his own kids received their education in Nigeria, the NMDPRA leader supposedly invested millions in foreign education for his children.
The post mentioned that Dangote criticized Farouk Ahmed for spending an enormous amount on educational fees and expressed doubts about the origin of the money.
Otedola magnified the statement by sharing Dangote’s remarks, which raised questions about potential misuse of authority, conflicts of interest, and the wider effects on Nigeria’s downstream petroleum industry.
These comments have sparked significant discussions online, with many Nigerians demanding accountability and openness from those in public positions.
Otedola stated: “$5 Million Tuition. 7.5 Billion Litres. Dangote Calls for Investigation and Prosecution of NMDPRA CEO. Aliko Dangote claims that NMDPRA CEO Farouk Ahmed used $5 million for Swiss school fees for his children. Living lavishly on taxpayers’ funds, right?
Dangote insists this brings up serious concerns about conflicts of interest, economic sabotage, and the trustworthiness of Nigeria’s downstream petroleum sector. He has urged the federal government to look into this and take legal action.”
