Repositioning of Prepaid Energy Meters to Electricity Poles and High Walls
PUBLIC NOTICE
DOC-20260117-WA0099.
Dear Esteemed Customers,
Kogi Electricity Distribution Limited (KEDL) extends warm greetings and best wishes to all our valued customers residing within the Government Reserved Area (GRA), specifically those served by Pablo Substation, Baba Ali Substation, Ibro Substation, and all other substations within the GRA and its environs.
Following a comprehensive review of our metering infrastructure, it has been observed that several prepaid energy meters currently installed within residential and commercial premises do not fully comply with industry standards and best practices. Furthermore, the present positioning of these meters restricts our personnel from conducting routine inspections and maintenance with ease.
In line with our commitment to enhanced safety, improved accessibility, and operational efficiency, KEDL has resolved to relocate all prepaid energy meters to external electricity poles or high walls of the respective properties. This adjustment will ensure that our metering engineers and linesmen have unhindered access for commissioning, testing, inspection, reading, and maintenance, while minimizing inconvenience to our esteemed customers.
Our technical teams are scheduled to commence this relocation exercise from 15th January, 2026. We kindly seek your full cooperation and support during this important operation, which is designed to serve you better.
Please note that individual notification letters have been dispatched to customers. However, if you have not received one, this public announcement serves as an official communication to you.
We sincerely appreciate your understanding and partnership as we work together to improve service delivery.
Yours faithfully,
For: Kogi Electricity Distribution Limited (KEDL)
